This Old House is comprised of 5 retreats & is nestled in Goshen, AL. The Wildflower, Hummingbird, Pond View Open Loft, Wildlife & Wildlife Executive Retreats. There are 5 private bedrooms, 1 open loft (sleeps 7), & 4 bathrooms. It offers a grill, 3 kitchenettes, a fully stocked kitchen, 7 TV's, 5 recliners, 4 couches, Wi-Fi, and much more. Great for families! This property cannot be used for events & large gatherings. Only a 15 min. drive from Troy.
This Old House is comprised of four private bedrooms and three bathrooms downstairs. In addition, it has an open upstairs beautifully appointed loft with a full private bathroom and sleeping for seven or more. There is a very spacious family room (with dining space) and fully equipped eat in kitchen In summary, you have access and use of the entire 6200 square foot Victorian Era home. This stunning home is nestled inside an Alabama Treasure Forest, in the country with an exquisite view of the family's 9 acre pond. Reminiscing on fond memories of times spent outdoors will be easy to do on the expansive front porch of This Old House. A handicapped accessible private entrance leads you to the serenity of five separate suites which we like to call Wildflower, Hummingbird, Wildlife, Wildlife Executive, & Pond View Open Loft Retreats. The view outside each retreat carries right on inside of each room. Due to current Airbnb regulations this house can not be used for parties or events .Â
The Wildflower Retreat is to your left as you arrive on the porch. It is a studio with a king bed & twin sofa bed for sleeping. It houses a kitchenette with a table, microwave, Keurig coffee pot & refrigerator. Enjoy relaxing in the 2 recliners, & watching the 50" TV. An en-suite bathroom is included with this retreat. Â
The Hummingbird Retreat features a king bed, en-suite sitting area, and swivel recliner. In a few seconds, turn the sofa into a full bed. The rocker recliner and large flat-screen TV are also housed in this delightful retreat. Adjacent to the Hummingbird Retreat, you will find a full bath that houses an antique claw-foot tub and separate shower. The spacious sun-room, and full kitchen complete with all necessities for rest and relaxation is just down the hall from your bedroom.Â
The Wildlife Retreat has a king bed and queen sofa bed for sleeping & en-suite bathroom. Enjoy watching the 50" TV as you lounge in the recliner or comfy sofa. Keep your drinks cold in the refrigerator, enjoy a cup of coffee in the Keurig coffee pot, or warm a snack in the microwave. All of this fun and never have to leave your room.Â
The Wildlife Executive is an additional bedroom attached to the Wildlife retreat. You get to enjoy all the amenities of the Wildlife retreat with an additional queen bed for sleeping. It also houses a wing back chair, 50" TV, & table & chairs to make your experience even better. Pocket doors original to the house separate these two bedrooms and you may leave them open or lock them.Â
The Pond View Open Loft is comprised of an open loft that will sleep 7 and private downstairs bedroom that sleeps two. The beautiful loft has a king-size bed, a queen bed, and two twin beds lining the walls. It also has a comfy sitting area with a couch, a love seat, & 50" TV. The back nook houses the kitchenette area with table and chairs, microwave, Keurig coffee pot, and refrigerator. Enjoy reading a book and gazing at the pond from the front window. A full bathroom with tub unit is upstairs. Downstairs houses a delightful entry area and private bedroom. This bedroom showcases your very own queen bed, recliner, & 50" TV. All you need to unwind from the day. Â
A few games, a basketball, & parking are provided so the guest can get the full effect of the wonderful spacious shared yard. The vast porches afford the opportunity to gaze at the sparkling pond while swinging or rocking the day away; all while listening to the songbirds . Along with pond gazing, you could enjoy a picnic on the porch at the patio table. Bring your board games and engage in a little competition under the shade of the immense porch! In the evenings, the night sky is remarkable. Imagine no city lights and the stars and moon reflecting into the pond. All of this for you to enjoy at This Old House. It's a great place for family & hunters! Dining is only minutes away. The Old Barn Restaurant is just up the hill from This Old House. We hope that you experience this 100+ year-old converted mule barn. It is open from 4 pm to 8 pm Thursday - Saturday featuring a full menu of steak, seafood, salads, sandwiches etc. and fine wine, and a full bar and they feature home grown veggies and country cooking on Sundays from 11am - 2 pm. The Old Barn has won the award for Alabama’s Best Steak and the best Catfish Award for Alabama. A directory of local dining is also provided. As you can see, This Old House offers a comfortable place to rest and unwind from a day of touring local attractions, attending sporting events, or cross country biking.
This Old House is in a beautifully restored 1912 Country Victorian home secluded in an award-winning Alabama Treasure Forest. From the wrap around porches and swings you can listen to the birds chirp and watch other wildlife in the massive yard. This Old House is located on the Conecuh river. Enjoy the beauties of the country as you swing on the porch and take in the breathtaking views!
Ample Parking is provided near entrance of This Old House. Driving is the best way to see the beautiful countryside. You could be enjoying a savory meal from The Old Barn Restaurant on Thur. - Saturday nights from 4-8 on and on Sunday from 11am -2pm. for homegrown veggies and country cooking.Â

Important Information
Guests will enjoy access to the Entire house which is comprised of the fully equipped kitchen, the sunroom, the private 5 downstairs bedrooms and three full downstairs bathrooms. In addition will have access to the entire upstairs loft with its full bathroom. Guests will also have access to the amazing handicapped accessible wrap-around porch and vast yard all for your exclusive enjoyment. The porch has two swings, numerous rocking chairs, a small patio table, and chairs; all of which overlook a stunning view of the family’s 9-acre pond. Free parking spaces are provided near This Old House. NO PETS OR ANIMALS ALLOWED of any kind!! No smoking inside the House. No use of the fireplaces.
 Guests will be able to contact us at any time during your stay. We want to make you as comfortable as possible while you are here at This Old House, but we will not interfere with your privacy.
The home was built in 1912 but was miraculously designed for how we are using it as a modern-day Airbnb Lodge. It has a wraparound and back porch with five private entrances into 6200 sq ft of living space. For catering needs, please consider our family who own The Old Barn Restaurant and/or Sips on the Square. These restaurants are very established and have been successful in the catering business for well over 10 years.Â
This Old House has been featured recently in Troy Life Magazine and over the years in Alabama Treasured Forest Magazine and other publications. The family are recipients of the esteemed Helene Moseley Conservation Award for outstanding forestry and wildlife management. They are also active in the Tree Farm program.Â
The famous Old Barn Restaurant is within walking distance of this magnificent house. Only minutes away is Downtown Troy which is home to Sips Beer Garden along with other dining such as B. Graves., and Mama Goldberg’s. The Square in Troy also offers a great shopping experience at Glow Boutique, Pink Parlor, Rustic Linen, and Hazels Gifts just to name a few. Troy University is only minutes from the Square. Don’t miss out on the exciting Trojan Events! Troy Recreation Department is a 15-minute drive from This Old House. While there you can enjoy a leisurely walk around a paved trail, let kids play on the playground, or watch several games of soccer, baseball, or softball depending on the season. Looking for a trip back in time, just go visit Pike Pioneer Museum. It is a 19th-century farmstead comprised of old buildings, horse-drawn jail, and a steam train. Just a few minutes from the museum is Butter & Egg Adventures where you can enjoy zip lining and a variety of other outdoor adventures. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds – country serenity with city convenience in only a 15-minute drive. Be sure to allow us to host you at This Old House.

– No Animals on the property
– No Smoking or vaping inside the home. If you smoke or vape outside, please be considerate of other guests. Properly discard of Butts and clean ash trays after each use.
– Do Not Use Fireplace.
– Check out time is by 11:00am.
– Check-in is at 3:00pm. or after. We do allow for a requested early check in for an additional charge if the property is clean and ready.
– Keep exterior doors closed.
– Keep porch lights off unless you need them. They attract bugs.
– Turn all water, appliances, and lights off when you leave .
– No cooking inside the retreats other than in microwave. Use the kitchen.
– Do Not Open Windows
Children must not run on porches, inside the retreat or be excessive noisy inside. The massive grounds provide ample fun space for running and playing.
– Closely supervise children at all times and be aware that there is a pond near the garage and across the road.
– Your guest count and your vehicle count must be accurate or you may be asked to leave without refund. Visitors are counted as guests. There is a $15 per person per night additional charge for guests after eight. Visitors must be included in the guest count. You may park up to four vehicles free. There is a $20 additional charge per vehicle per reservation for each vehicle after four.
– Fishing is allowed for $10 per day per person. Message us with number who want to fish and day please. We will message you details.
-If you break the house rules you can be asked to leave without a refund.
– Please take trash out to can on left side of the garage when you leave.
– Wash any dishes used and put them back in place.
– Turn out all lights when you exit.
