The Wildlife Executive is a two bedroom one bath private dream space in This Old House - only a 15 minute drive from Troy University. Bedroom 1 is spacious (16’ by 16’) with a king bed, sofa bed, 50" TV, recliner, Keurig coffee pot, refrigerator & microwave. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed and 50’ TV. A private entrance and a private bathroom serve both bedrooms via bedroom one. Gaze at the wildlife (from the comfort of your recliner or massive wraparound porch) at this scenic country location in Goshen, AL!
Wildlife Executive Retreat is labeled in Airbnb as the entire house because it has a private entrance, two private bedrooms and a private bathroom. It is not the entire house, but is a popular large private retreat within This Old House perfect for families or close couples or friends. Guests who reserve the Wildlife Executive Retreat enter the Retreat through a private convenient entrance from the wrap-around-porch and have exclusive private use of the following spaces.

-Bedroom Two (queen bed ) Sleeps 2. .
-One Spacious Bathroom
Bedroom one and two are separated by lovely Victorian pocket doors that can be left open or easily closed and locked for privacy in each bedroom. The bathroom is accessed through bedroom one.
None of the above described space is shared space with guests in other retreats. No one but those who have booked Wildlife Executive have access to the above described two bedrooms and bathroom. As with similar lodging accommodations, you may see our cleaning staff and guests from other retreats on the porch or on the massive beautiful grounds during your stay.
The Wildlife Executive Retreat is a part of This Old House that is a 6200 square foot Victorian Era home built in 1912; the same year the Titanic sank. It is nestled in the country with an exquisite view of a 9 acre pond. The Wildlife Executive Retreat has a private entrance off an amazing wrap-around porch that leads to your two private bedrooms and private bathroom. Free Parking is available close to the front door or close to the handicapped ramp should you need it. Let me give you even more reasons to stay at This Old House in the Wildlife Retreat!
Sitting on the massive porch in Goshen, AL approximately 14 minutes from downtown Troy, evokes emotions of serenity, tranquility and peace. The Wildlife Executive Retreat offers sleeping for six with a King bed, queen bed, & a Queen pull out sofa bed with top quality memory foam mattress Each room offers a new 50" TV for you to binge watch your favorite shows. You can also lounge on the couch or recliner in king bedroom while you surf the web. The lovely retreat offers a microwave, refrigerator & Keurig coffee maker, with two packs of coffee for you to enjoy during your stay. A few games and a basketball are provided outside so the guest can get the full affect of the wonderful spacious shared yard. The vast shared porches afford the opportunity to gaze at the sparkling pond while swinging or rocking the day away; all while listening to the songbirds . Along with pond gazing you could enjoy a picnic on the porch at the patio table. Bring your board games and engage in a little competition under the shade of the immense porch! In the evenings the night sky is remarkable. Imagine no city lights and the stars and moon reflecting into the pond. All of this for you to enjoy at the Wildlife Executive Retreat. Dining is only minutes away. The Old Barn Restaurant is just up the hill from This Old House. It is open from 4 pm to 8 pm Thursday - Saturday and serves country homemade cooking on Sundays from 11am - 2pm. The Old Barn has won the award for Alabama’s Best Steak and the best Catfish Award for Alabama. The famous Chicken Shack is only a 18 minute drive in Luverne, AL. Just off 331. This getaway would be perfect for long term corporate rental, an overnight hunting trip get away, stop on the way to the beach, ball tournament, Troy University football game, or rent all three retreats for a family reunion or bridal party. The Wildlife Retreat at This Old House is in the desired neighborhood of The Land of Goshen in a beautifully restored 1912 Country Victorian home secluded in an award-winning Alabama Treasure Forest just minutes from highway 231 in Troy and highway 331 in Luverne and convenient to Enterprise and Dothan and Interstate 65 in Montgomery and Greenville. From the wrap around porches and swings you can listen to the birds sing and watch the hummingbirds and butterflies plus remarkable wildlife like fox squirrels, Eastern wild turkeys, and whitetail deer in the massive yard. Just like The Pool House, Wildflower Retreat, the Pond View Open Loft, and Hummingbird Retreat, The Wildlife Executive at This Old House is located near the Conecuh River. Free and Ample Parking is provided near entrance of Wildlife Executive Retreat. Driving is the best way to see the beautiful countryside. You could be enjoying a savory steak or seafood meal from the award-winning Old Barn Restaurant on Thur. - Saturday nights from 4 pm to 8 pm or home cooking on Sundays from 11am to 2pm. Only 15 minutes away is Sips Beer Garden and our beloved Troy University is only a 12 to 15 minute drive away.
Guest will enjoy the amazing handicapped accessible wrap-around porch to the private entrance. Use electronic code to enter the retreat. The porch houses two swings, numerous rocking chairs, a small patio table and chairs all of which overlook a stunning view of the family’s 9 acre pond. This Old House has been featured recently in Troy Life Magazine and over the years in Alabama Treasured Forest Magazine and other publications. The family is recipients of the esteemed Helene Moseley Conservation Award for outstanding forestry and wildlife management. They are also active in the Tree Farm program.
The famous Old Barn Restaurant is within walking distance of this magnificent Retreat space. Only minutes away is Downtown Troy that is home to Sips Beer Garden along with other dining such as B. Graves., Francesca’s , and Mama Goldberg’s. The Square in Troy also offers a great shopping experience at Glow Boutique, Pink Parlor, Rustic Linen, and Hazels Gifts just to name a few. Troy University is only minutes from the Square. Don’t miss out on the exciting Trojan Events! Troy Recreation Department is a 15 minute drive from Retreat One. There you can enjoy a leisure walk around a paved trail, let kids play on playground or watch several games of soccer, baseball or softball depending on the season. Looking for a trip back in time, just go visit Pike Pioneer Museum. It is a 19 century farmstead comprised of old buildings, horse drawn jail, and steam train. Just a few minutes from the museum it Butter & Egg Adventures where you can enjoy zip lining and a variety of other outdoor adventures. – No Smoking or vaping inside the home. If you smoke or vape outside, please be considerate of other guests. Properly discard of Butts and clean ash trays after each use.
-You must let us know the total number and ages of all who will be staying or visiting. During the booking process, you are charged $10 per night per person extra after 2 people.
-Check out time is by 11:00am.
-Check-in is at 3:00pm. or after. We do allow for a requested early check in for an additional charge if the property is clean and ready.
-Keep exterior doors closed.
– Keep porch lights off unless you need them. They attract bugs.
-Turn all water, appliances, and lights off when you leave .
-No cooking inside the retreat other than in microwave.
Children must not run on porches, inside the retreat or be excessive noisy inside. The massive grounds provide ample fun space for running and playing.
-Closely supervise children at all times and be aware that there is a pond near the garage and across the road.
-If you break the house rules you can be asked to leave without a refund.
-Please take trash out to can on left side of the garage when you leave.
-Wash any dishes used and put them back in place.
-Turn out all lights when you exit.
-Leave thermostat set -Heat – 62; AC 75
-Please notify Michelle when you depart through the app.

Full refund if canceled within 48 hours of booking and at least 28 days before check-in. After that, the first 30 days of the stay are non-refundable.
